Day 6 - Good Signs!

Again we praise our Lord and God, our Savior Jesus Christ, for His grace and love for us. It is evident that your prayers are heard by Him. There are signs that Michael may be on the healing phase. He may still have to stay in the hospital for a couple of weeks but it sounds like the worst may be over! Praise the Lord!

He still looks a little worse than yesterday. His skin is still blistering in his mouth, lips and throughout his body. He still has pains, esp. in his mouth, throat and chest (maybe the esophagus), so he's still connected to the morphine machine. He still lies in bed practically all the time. His skin gets very itchy due to the blisters and he's given Benadryl to control the itch but that medicine makes him sleep.

The good signs are that the blisters seem to have stopped spreading. They seem to be drying up and on their way out. But they make take up to a couple of weeks to be worry free! But at least the consensus of the doctors is that the worst is probably over. AND his organs are in good shape! Praise the Lord!

Yet the doctors want to be sure he does not get any infections thru his raw skin. So, three times a day, the nurses cover his skin with gauze, soaked in antiseptic, for a few minutes. I took some pictures because he looked like a zombie.

I thought about posting more pictures here but decided to just link it to the photo site. But be warned - some pictures are hard to look at. Click here to see the pictures.

By the way, they will not insert the PICC line anymore since he is able to eat a little. But please keep praying that Michael will truly be on the healing phase. We truly appreciate your friendship, love and prayers. He is receiving visitors, though the hospital allows only 4 people at a time (none under the age of 11).

Thank you again for your prayers. The Lord is good. Ps 73:28 "But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, That I may tell of all Your works."

Praise God! We will continue to pray for Michael and the next couple of weeks. Tell him to hang in there! And by the way, one piece of CHO advice....if you are having to use the "communal shower" for your daily showers if you're staying the night...go right after the cleaning lady has come by! It makes for a much more bearable experience! Just a little tip from a fellow CHO parent! :)

Love,
Kristi (and the rest of the Trebs!)

Bob and Liz,
This is truly cause to rejoice! The Lord is so gracious and full of lovingkindness, and hears and answers our cries to Him! We will keep begging Him to fully heal Michael and put him back on his feet. Don't forget that many people love you and are praying for you.

Press on,
Myra Shealy

Praise God! Bob & Liz, when (if) you find some down time, listen to the exposition of Psalm 34 @ SEP. I found it to be profoundly encouraging.

For His glory,
Earl
